well to answer some of these amazing questions; Flour Bloom is a sort of community hub-meets-cafe-meets-event space-meets-gift shop. we're eclectic, because life's too short to take things too seriously. imagine a cafe where you can find NY Italian Inspired baked goods and sandos, as well as plants & a whole a** retail area filled with local makers & artists! well, that's us. we are a space where community means everything to us and we are committed to providing not only amazing quality food/bev, but also provide a safe space where we come & work together to give back to our community.

Flour Bloom is the creative brain child of Bree Licata, former Long Islander. Growing up in New York, Bree was constantly around Italian bakeries and delis. When she moved to Portland, she realized there wasn't as much of those types of shops around. Putting together her two passions, baking & plants, Flour Bloom was created.
“I’ve always wanted to bake for people and make them happy. Something about watching someone take a bite of something they actually enjoy and want more of, is a feeling unmatched. At 19, I started baking at home with boxed mix. Making and creating new flavor profiles is what sparked my love for baking. After a few years of not really know what career I wanted, I decided to go to culinary school. Graduating from ICE in NYC in 2016, I came back here and did my externship with Alessio Baking Co (RIP!). If you've been here for a while, you'll recognize them from making all the bread for the famous Dick's Primal Burgers. Having gained experience in some of Portland's more known establishments, it created my drive to open my own shop.
After the pandemic, I realized I wanted to bring Flour Bloom to Portland. I wanted to create a space where the community can meet and enjoy good food, drinks and atmosphere. We aim to be your third place and favorite late night spot." -Bree
